Ever see a car and wondered that, damn I have seen that car on the market since my childhood then you probably are right as there are some cars in the market that are more than 2 decades old and have aged well. Starting with the oldest of them all, we have prepared a list of the Top 5 longest and the most successful running cars to date.

1.Honda City (1988 – present)

The Japanese carmaker Honda’s one of the most successful and the longest running cars to date is none other than the Honda City, which first made its debut in 1988 and till now has been making decent sales for the company with its 5th Generation on sale. In these more than 20 years the car has been aged well and has received many overwhelming updates, making it stand strong with the current market trend. Although Sedans have lost their charm in this age, but the Honda City never seems to amaze us.

2. Tata Safari (1998 – present)

The highly popular and one of the longest running cars, Tata Safari has been true love for many SUV enthusiasts as the car was a big hit of that time and was owned by everyone who could afford it. Tata Safari made its debut in the same year as the Honda City however unlike the Japanese car, safari got discontinued back in 2019 but got a generation upgrade in 2021 to carry the baton for the coming years. Although the Safari now has been a bit downgraded in terms of chassis as the earlier was built on the ladder frame but now the new Safari comes with a monocoque chassis.

3. Maruti Suzuki Wagon-R (1999 – present)

The most sold car of more than a decade is none other than Maruti Suzuki Wagon-R itself. The car made its debut back in 1999 and till now has been strong in the market. The car not only has aged well but also performed splendidly as this boxy hatchback most of the time is the best selling car of the month. Although the car isn’t the most aerodynamic or eye-pleasing car but that doesn’t lessen the love of the common man for this car.

4. Maruti Suzuki Alto (2000 – present)

Who doesn’t remember the all-time favourite car of the decade, Maruti Suzuki Alto which till now have been making sales like no other and even ranks as the top 10 best selling cars in each month. Till now the car has only received a handful of updates and the name has also been slightly altered to Alto 800 but no one beats the Alto in the most well-aged car of the century.

5. Maruti Suzuki Eeco (2001 – present)

Maruti Suzuki Eeco or earlier known as the Maruti Suzuki Versa wasn’t the most popular car of its age as the car was mostly used in taxis and school or office vans. Amitabh Bachchan as a brand ambassador this car tried its hardest to succeed but didn’t made any big news at that time. however, after a name change and some minor interior and exterior changes the car was launched as the Maruti Suzuki Eeco that is one of the most successful MPV available on the market as of now.
